Week Five - Artisan's Bakery at North Market

Decided to check out the North Market today. Artisans had warm fresh baked cinnamon rolls. This roll melted in my mouth. A medium soft side with soft fluffy bread inside covered with a butter cinnamon mixture and drizzled with sugary icing. This is one of the best I have ever had. Today, I declare this the best cinnamon roll Columbus has to offer. Rating 10 of 10.

Week Four - Resch's Bakery

Located at Yearling and Livingston in southeast Columbus is a premium bakery. Never been there when it has not been packed with people. Excellent doughnuts, danish, rolls and cakes. They sell one of my favorite types of cinnamon rolls. It is baked in a pan like a cake. They have a rich sugar icing which tops them. They sell in packs of 6 which I would devour if I wasn't trying to eat healthier. These are reminiscent of the Betty Brown Bakery Cinnamon rolls sold by Big Bear Grocery from the 60's to the 80's. We ate them every Sunday for breakfast before heading to church. Rating 9 of 10.

Week Three - Stan Evans Bakery

Went to Stan Evans Bakery - no cinnamon rolls per se. But they did have an fried puff pastry called an elephant ear. Cinnamon roll fans will enjoy this crispy/chewy version. Very tasty, has all the right flavors when looking for a cinnamon roll. They have done a great job of blending tastes and textures for this unique treat. Rating 7 of 10

Week Two - Starbucks

On Jan 7th my friend took me to Starbucks to meet and chat about business. He had his regular coffee and I had a hot tea ( I had just spent nearly 3 hours moving snow outside and it was frigid). We split a Starbucks Cinnamon Roll. I believe it was probably frozen. Actually a pretty decent roll (could have been frozen). A nice thick roll, medium density with an adequate amount of cinnamon and iced topping. It did not strike me a roll I would drive out of my way for though. Rating 5 of 10

First Month 6 Rolls

OK - I should have started the blog on my first day, but here we are. Cinnamon rolls are my favorite SWEET breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack food.

Week One - New Years Day Pillsbury Cinnamon Grands. One of the best prepackaged rolls out there. Cooked correctly they are sweet and melt in your mouth. I love a generous coating of icing on these babies. RATING 7 of 10 when cooked properly (3 of 10 when not properly prepared)
