Week Eleven - Andersons

I know I already went to Andersons for the cinnamon roll with the "sugar icing" - but these are the ones with the "cream cheese icing". Thats totally different. I thought the bream cheese would be better... NOT on these. Same great roll, too much cream cheese, which I tried changing the amount of icing in each bite. That was entirely too much work. The sugar icing=great, cream cheese icing=ok. (See Andersons post below from week seven, then think a yellow tint on top - you got it) Rating 5 of 10.

Week Ten - Pillsbury Orange

My wife bought the tube and was excited as these are her favorite Pillsbury. I haven't had them for years - BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT CINNAMON. Tried them again and they taste the same - orange. I am happy that many of you love these. Keep buying them so my wife can have them when she needs them while I eat the Pillsbury Cinnamon Grands. (If you love them you know what they look like.) Rating 2 of 10.

Week Ten - Dunkin Donuts

Tried the coiled cinnamon BUN with a donut glaze. Very fresh, tastes great - but more of a donut than a cinnamon roll. So as a cinnamon roll the rating will not reflect the wonderful taste it affords. Oops, I ate it all before I remembered to shoot a pic., sorry. Rating 5 of 10.

Week Ten - Suisse Shop

Found these guys online and saw they had a cinnamon roll. Not a standard american roll by any means. They have a uniquely wrapped roll with the right combination of bread, cinnamon sugar and icing. This is a very good roll. When on Polaris in Lewis Center - stop in and try one. Rating 6 of 10.

Week Nine - Beehive Bakery

Powell has an excellent bread shop with a 6" coiled cinnamon roll with or without walnuts. Not sure why, but I am not a nut guy when it comes to my cinnamon rolls. No icing on this voluptuous roll just a full coating of cinnamon sugar - oh baby.
Too sweet for some but a true treasure in Powell. I love eating these when I am going to be working hard that day, because no one can burn off one of these just sitting behind a desk. Rating 8 of 10.

Week Eight - McDonald's

Yes, McDonalds Cinnamon Melts have got good flavor. They are not rue cinnamon rolls - more like a pull apart pastry. When you need the cinnamon roll flavor and are on the run, they can be had just about anywhere. Nice job McD's but not quite the fine bakers taste I am looking for. Rating 5 of 10.

Week Seven - Andersons General Store

Who'd thunk it - Andersons has my childhood favorite. Buy this 6 pack for 2.99 and nice fluffy bread with light cinnamon rolled in and sugar iced with the right balance of icing and bread. I love these - right up there with Resch's Bakery. Unfortunately, six of these never seems to last 6 days. You go Andersons - 9 out of 10 rating (the childhood memory weighs in in heavily, whether it is the best or not).
